Hampton Roads Civic Ballet

The Hampton Roads Civic Ballet (HRCB) is a pre-professional performing company. It is a non-profit organization comprised of intermediate and advanced students at the Academy of Ballet in Hampton, Virginia. Two major productions are staged annually, including the holiday classic The Nutcracker. HRCB also performs community benefit concerts throughout the year at arts festivals, hospitals, and nursing homes.

Founded in 1948 by Muriel Shelley Evans and Edgerton Evans, the Hampton Roads Civic Ballet is an asset the community. Arts supporters and parents value our dedication to each other and to enriching the community through quality, affordable performances. Our diverse productions, ranging from classical ballets to contemporary choreography, engage audiences and cultivate respect for the art and the dancers.
